News and updates from the studio

Lovely Boise Bound. A draft resin sculpted by Michelle Platt. This boy was a commission piece for the artist. I had a great time painting him and I love how he turned out. His attitude and expression is so realistic! I've owned several percherons and belgians. They all had this look at one time or another.

Here is another recent project that was alot of fun. (see earlier progrress photos below) This custom Victrix was a commission piece. The owner picked out a lovely chestnut overo with some roaning as the color and as you can see it was an excellent choice.

Just completed!

This is a commission work I just finished. She's certainly a gorgeous girl. She was done in the new technique I have recently started. Its a base coat in airbrush, followed by dapples layered over that in soft pastels, then followed by hand roadning with pencil. Its a very time consuming process, but check out the close up below.

Here is another example of the same technique done in rose grey.

In the works: Custom Victrix - commission.

Neck straightened new wind blown mane added. New tail photos coming soon!

Well I just got the news that the Tunica, MS miniature horse show has been cancelled. I am totally bummed since I had planned to show there and have been working with my guys a lot for the past two months. So...no show. But that gives me more time to paint and sculpt so I shouldn't complain. I have been very busy with commissions. Below is a photo of me and Pooh Bear. He thinks he's the cat's meow, and some of the mares think so too!
I'm hoping to have some of his foals on the ground next year.
